Update.....just after 10 a.m. I was packing and getting ready for the big bachelorette trip to Memphis and was standing by the bed and the shaking started again. This time I was much more awake and I just stood in a bit of shock. I saw the mirror above the dresser shaking and could hear things in the house moving. It was a little unnerving since I was home alone....
Well, early this morning I experienced something I've not yet experienced in my lifetime....an earthquake. It supposedly happened in Bellmont, IL at 4:37 a.m. 5.2 on the scale.
Here's how I remember it.....I was awoken by my dog, Bella, early this morning. She was barking rather persistently and I sat up and looked at her and asked what was wrong with her. Just after that the bed started to shake, as if someone was on the side of it pushing it, but no one was. I then realize that the entire house is shaking and I'm confused. I turn and ask Eugene, "what is that?"
He said, "maybe it's an earthquake" and I say that must be it because I cannot think of any other logical explanation.
So, it stops and I lay there for a while expecting some sort of aftershock that might kill us or something, but that never happens.
And, of course, when we turn on the news this morning, it is "Breaking News" and that is all they continue to talk about as I keep watching.
That's all I got....it's too early in the morning for anything else to have happened.
